GDPR and data rights

This page explains how Naam Jaap Counter approaches the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. We do not run user accounts; most practice data never leaves your device.

Last updated: September 14, 2026

1. Who is responsible

Naam Jaap Counter is the controller for personal data we receive ourselves — for example a message you send to postsyncs@gmail.com or through the contact form.

Hosting, analytics, and advertising partners act as processors or independent controllers for the technical data they collect when you visit https://www.jaapcounter.in. Those partners currently may include Vercel (hosting), Google Analytics, DataFa.st, and Google AdSense.

2. What we actually hold

Japa counts, mantra text, goals, and history are stored in your browser on your device. We cannot read, export, or restore that data from our side.

If you email us or use the contact form, we receive whatever you choose to send (typically an email address and message). Server logs and advertising or analytics tools may process IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and similar technical information.

Operating the website and keeping it secure: legitimate interests.

Remembering your count and theme in the browser: the storage is on your device and is needed for the tool to work.

Responding to a message you send us: the steps needed to handle your request, and our legitimate interest in answering you.

Analytics and personalised advertising (when those partners are active): consent where the law requires it, and you can withdraw that consent in your browser, via our cookie notice, or through Google Ads Settings.

4. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold; to restrict or object to certain processing; to data portability for information you provided to us; and to withdraw consent.

To make a request, email postsyncs@gmail.com from the address the request concerns and say what you want us to do. We will respond within one month where GDPR applies, unless the request is complex.

We cannot delete a japa count that exists only in your browser. Clear site data for this domain on that device if you want that copy gone.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority in your country (for example the ICO in the UK).

5. Transfers and retention

Some partners are based outside the EEA. They typically rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent transfer tool in their own terms.

Emails we receive are kept only as long as needed to answer you and to meet legal or security needs. Browser storage stays until you clear it.

6. Children

The site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have received such information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
